Diono Radian RXT Convertible Car Seat Review

It is about that time for me. I am going from an infant seat to an upright car seat. This is a new chapter in my book. I wanted to find something that allowed it to be rear-facing, since my little guy is only 11 months and a bit tall for his infant seat. I wanted this seat to be a convertible seat that is also small enough to fit in my small car without taking up a lot of room. I begun researching a lot of various different seats that I thought would be great. I came across the Radian RXT. I seen nothing but amazing reviews and I knew that it would cost me a bit, but when it comes to my group, it is safety first. The first thing that I loved about it is that it was slim, I was amazed, because even with my daughter’s big girl booster in the back seat, it still left plenty of room.

The other thing is that I can use it with both my daughter or son, because it will hold up to 120 lbs, comfortably. It is also jam packed with safety features like a steel frame, energy absorbing EPS foam, aluminum reinforced side walls, 5 point harness and adjustable head support. This is literally the safest car seat I have found. It is even able to be used for infants. That was a huge selling point as well. When I need to store it, it folds up pretty easily without any type of issue and since it is convertible, I can use it in 3 different ways. This is the only car seat that I will need for my little guy, and I because of all the great features, I actually recently purchased a second one for my daughter. I want them to be safe and this is a great start. This car seat actually surpassed the Federal crash standards and NCAP standards that verifies child seats in the case of severe accident conditions. Let’s talk pro’s and con’s.

  • Super LATCH connectors for secure installation
  • Can be fitted with an adult belt if there isn’t a latch anchor
  • Steel frame with EPS foam
  • Multiple recline positions
  • 5 point harness
  • Washable seat cover
  • Reinforced head supportive
  • Rear facing tether straps

  • The price is a bit steep
  • Can be hard to install the first time

Overall, this is one of the best car seats that I have seen on the market. It is comfortable, and has plenty of impressive safety features. It is basically the only car seat that you will need for your little one.
